What we record, why we record it, and how little of you we actually want.

I.

Who runs this site

The data controller is Laragod, the studio behind Timefather. We are the legal entity responsible for anything this site does with your data. You can reach us at hello@timefather.game or through the contact form. There is no separate Data Protection Officer; the studio itself reads and answers these requests.

II.

What we collect

When you submit the contact form, we store your name, email address, subject, and message. When you subscribe to the newsletter, we store your email address, locale, and the page you subscribed from. In both cases we also record your IP address and user agent for abuse prevention. Usage statistics are described in the next section. Nothing else is collected.

III.

Usage statistics

We count visits with Umami, which we host ourselves at stats.timefather.net. It sets no cookies and stores no IP address; visitors are told apart by a one-way code that it rotates regularly, and browsers that send Do Not Track are skipped. It records the page, the referring site, the browser type, country and screen size, and we only look at the totals. When you click a launcher download, the site counts it without storing your IP address or browser: it keeps a one-way code that changes every day, whether the device is a computer or a phone, and the referring site. Each time the Timefather launcher starts, it sends a random installation code, its version and the installed game version, so we can count installations; this is not linked to your account and no IP address is stored. For signed-in players we note on which days an account pressed Play or entered the world. We keep these counts on the basis of our legitimate interest in knowing whether people manage to install and start the game (Art. 6(1)(f)).

IV.

On what legal basis

Contact form submissions are processed on the basis of your pre-contractual interest in reaching us (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)). Newsletter subscriptions are processed on the basis of your explicit consent, which you grant by submitting the form and can withdraw at any time by unsubscribing (Art. 6(1)(a)). Abuse-prevention logs are kept on the basis of our legitimate interest in protecting the site from misuse (Art. 6(1)(f)). Usage statistics rest on our legitimate interest in knowing whether people manage to install and start the game (Art. 6(1)(f)).

V.

What we use it for

Contact messages are read by a human and replied to. Newsletter subscribers receive infrequent development updates, beta-key invitations, and the occasional essay. Usage statistics are only ever looked at as totals, to see which pages help and where people get stuck between downloading and playing. We do not sell, trade, rent, or profile your data. We do not use it for advertising.

VI.

Who else touches it

We use a small number of processors, each bound by contract or by the GDPR's standard conditions. Hosting: our server provider stores the database and server logs. Fonts: served from Bunny Fonts, an EU-hosted mirror that does not store visitor data. Usage statistics: Umami runs on our own server; no third party receives them. Email: outbound transactional email passes through our mail provider; no third party sees the content beyond what is required to deliver it.

VII.

International transfers

We do not transfer personal data outside the EU. Our hosting, mail, and font providers are EU-based. If this changes we will update this page before the change takes effect.

VIII.

Cookies

We only set cookies the site needs to work: a session cookie so the site can remember you across page loads, a CSRF cookie to protect form submissions, a language cookie, and, if you tick "Keep me signed in", a sign-in cookie. None of them track you, so there is no consent banner. Our usage statistics set no cookies at all.

IX.

How long we keep it

Contact messages are retained for up to 24 months after the last reply, then deleted. Newsletter subscribers stay on the list until they unsubscribe, which they can do from any email we send. Unsubscribed addresses are retained for 90 days as a suppression list to prevent accidental re-import, then deleted. Abuse-prevention logs (IP, user agent) are rotated out after 180 days. Usage statistics hold no IP addresses and are kept as history; the days an account pressed Play or entered the world are deleted together with the account.

X.

Your rights

Under the GDPR and UK GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal data, and to receive it in a portable format. Write to us using the contact form or directly at hello@timefather.game. We will respond within 30 days. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority — in Poland that is the UODO (uodo.gov.pl); in other EU/UK jurisdictions your national authority.

XI.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has submitted personal data to us, write to us and we will delete it.

XII.

Changes to this policy

If we update this policy, the "Last updated" date above will change. Substantive changes will be flagged in the footer for at least 30 days and, where the change affects newsletter subscribers materially, announced by email.
